ABOUT MERIVALE STUDIOS

Merivale Studios was founded in early 2024 by Phoebe Paradise and a small group of Meanjin Brisbane’s iconic illustrators, muralists and contemporary artists.

It was established with the singular vision of creating a unique, vibrant hub and incubator space for professional visual artists and creatives who put Brisbane on the map.

Merivale Studios aims to meaningfully contribute to the cultural landscape of Meanjin Brisbane by providing high quality, boutique studio spaces, whilst increasing visibility and economic opportunities for its residents. It aims to provide a home where creativity and community can flourish, while artists access exclusive resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

Located on Merivale Street, South Brisbane, Merivale Studios is placed in the mecca of Brisbanes’ cultural institutions; including QAGOMA, QPAC, Griffith University & the Fish Lane public art trail. The building is a newly renovated, fully air conditioned industrial warehouse space with sleek container offices, loft spaces & private gallery studios - offering premium spaces at a range of pricing, optimised for individual requirements of professional practice.

Since its conception, Merivale Studios management has curated 5 solo exhibitions, 4 public art projects and delivered 11 public programs & workshops to its growing audience. The public art projects include major commercial mural commissions, public art exhibitions & installations; paid opportunities generated and managed by the studio for its residents and community. In addition to the permanent artist residencies, the studios have facilitated outcomes for a number of guest artists who have utilised the studio facilities for a short term residency & exhibition program.

Partnered with the Fish Lane Arts Precinct, Prolab Laboratories & Jubilee Framing, Merivale offers exclusive benefits to its residents.
